Apple IOS – Check battery health information (Internal)

Problem

A technician is dealing with a query from a customer who has an Apple IOS and you need to check general battery health info.

Applies to

  1. Apple IOS iPad/iPhone

Resolution

Please use the steps below to locate battery health information on your IOS device.
  1. From the home screen tap to open Settings.
  2. Then tap to select Battery > Battery Health.
  3. On the batterry health screen make a note of the following information provided:

    - Maximum capacity
    - Peak Performance capacity
    - Battery cycle count (if available)

  4. When battery Status shows reports Normal no aaction is required.  If Battery Status reports with the word Service, this indicates that the internal battery has lost sufficient capacity to require replacement. 

Using VoiceOver

For customers who use VoiceOver please see instructions below:
  1. From the home use swipe left/right gestures to select Settings and double tap to open.
  2. Scroll down the and select Battery > Battery Health.
  3. On the next screen make a note of Battery Status (additionally other items below):

    - Maximum capacity
    - Peak Performance capacity
    - Battery cycle count (if available)

  4. When battery Status shows reports Normal no aaction is required.  If Battery Status reports with the word Service, this indicates that the internal battery has lost sufficient capacity to require replacement. 


Note
It is possible that on some older models and older IOS versions battery health information may not be available.  If it is possible you can update to a later IOS version which may support this feature.
