Laptop & Desktop - Battery calibration for Lenovo laptops

Problem

A Lenovo laptop is having probelms with laptop battery running time and needs to conduct a battery calibration.

Resolution

  1. Battery calibration is a procedure that can be carried out on a laptop that allows the battery mananagement electronics to analyse the charge/discharge behaviour of the internal rechargeable battery so it is able to obtain data or provide better estimates of battery consumption or discharge rate.
  2. Battery calibration is conducted using the Lenovo OneKey optimizer software that is installed on multiple Lenovo laptop models.  Please use the steps below to perform that calibration:

  1. Open OneKey Optimizer from the taskbar or search for OneKey Optimizer.
  2. Select Save Power. Go to Battery Conservation, then click Calibrate.
  3. Choose a proper start time, then click OK.

NotesNote
Manually calibrate the battery by charging the battery to 100%. Allow the battery to drain down to 5% before charging again.
