JAWS – Bluetooth headset connection drops whilst using JAWS
Problem
When using a connected Bluetooth headset with JAWS connection to the headset may drop.

Resolution
Bluetooth connection may be lost due to either the Bluetooth adapter or headset going to sleep to conserve battery power; a setting in JAWS can play a silent wave file to keep the connection alive.
- Press JAWSKey+F2 and select Settings Centre, then press ENTER.
- Press CONTROL+SHIFT+D to open the default configuration.
- Then type the word Avoid into the search box and press down arrow to locate the result "Avoid speech cut off when using Bluetooth headphones"
Then press SPACEBAR to toggle the feature.
- Press TAB to Apply button,.then press SPACEBAR on it.
- Then press ENTER to dismiss the dialogue.
Tip
Customers may also try this if they have a wired headset that has the same problem to see if it will help.
