Braille Edge 40 resets

Problem

The Braille Edge display is not working as expected and you need to use a reset to fix the problem. 

Resolution

Use each method as aproprirate to attempt to resolve the problem.

Method 1 - Reset button

Press the “Reset” button on the rear panel. Do NOT hold the “Reset” button for more than 5 seconds.

Note

After pressing reset the unit takes about 15 seconds for the unit to reboot.

Method 2 - Shut down button

If pressing the "Reset" button does not revive the Braille EDGE 40 or the battery is completely depleted, you may need to perform a ‘Shut down’.
You will need to obtain a toothpick or straighten a paperclip to access the "shut down" button.

Please be careful when pressing the “Shut down” button as pressing too hard or using an end too small may damage the device. If you press the “Shut down” button on the rear panel then press the “power” button on the front panel, Braille EDGE 40 reboots, initializing all settings to their factory defaults.
