Problem
The BrailleSense 6 is not behaving normally. You can possily fix using a reset.
Resolution
Firmware 1.7 patch released to fix startup freeze
- A patch for the original firmware 1.7 release has been made available to fix an issue a freeze at startup.
- If a unit is affected by this because the customer has recently installed 1.7 the unit may require return to base for this patch to be administered. Further details on this patch here
Soft reset
Hold the keys F2-F3-dots-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 whilst powering up. This will attempt to reset the Android launcher to restore normal operation for BrailleSense.
Hard reset (erases data)
Note: if at all possible try to do a back up before using this reset to avoid lengthy setup time afterwards.
- Press and hold dot7 & F1 & media stop button all together.
- Whilst holding the buttons press power to switch on.
- Release dot7, F1 and Media stop button when you hear the power on music and “HIMS” is displayed on the Braille line.
