The BrailleSense 6 is not behaving normally. You can possily fix using a reset.

Firmware 1.7 patch released to fix startup freeze
For customers who downloaded/installed the original firmware 1.7 firmware, an updated patch firmware has been made available to fix a a freeze at startup.  Affected customers may need to return their unit to base for this patch to be installed. 


Method 1 - Soft reset

  1. Press Power button on BrailleSense 6.
  2. Then immediate press and hold the following keys F2-F3 and braille dot keys 1-2-3-4-5-6.  
  3. The BrailleSense 6 should then reboot if it is stuck or in hung condition.

Method 2 - Launcher reset

If the File Manager does  not appear to start after booting use the key combination F2-F3-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 twice in succession to reset the launcher.

Method 3 - Hard reset (erases data)

Note: if at all possible try to do a back up before using this reset to avoid lengthy setup time afterwards.

  1. Press and hold dot 7, F1 and media STOP button all together.
  2. Whilst holding the buttons press Power button.
  3. Release dot 7, F1 and media STOP button when you hear the power on music and “HIMS” is displayed on the Braille line.
