The BrailleSense 6 is not behaving normally. You can possily fix using a reset.

Firmware 1.7 patch released to fix startup freeze
For customers who downloaded/installed the original firmware 1.7 firmware, an updated patch firmware has been made available to fix a a freeze at startup.  Affected customers may need to return their unit to base for this patch to be installed. 


Method 1 - Soft reset

  1. Hold the keys F2-F3 and braille keys 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.
  2. Then whilst holding the above keys press power button.
  3. Continue to hold the F2--F3 dots 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 until you hear the power on sound, then release the keys .

Method 2 - Hard reset (erases data)

Note: if at all possible try to do a back up before using this reset to avoid lengthy setup time afterwards.

  1. Press and hold dot7 & F1 & media stop button all together.
  2. Whilst holding the buttons press power to switch on.
  3. Release dot7, F1 and Media stop button when you hear the power on music and “HIMS” is displayed on the Braille line.
