BrailleSense 6 – Typing mode

Problem

A BrailleSense user working a document finds there navigation key chords do not function as expected.

Applies to

  1. HIMS BrailleSense 6

Resolution

This problem may be the result of Typing mode being active which is a feature that disables document navigation key chords that may be accidentally activated by those who key in very rapidly.  


Enable/disable Typing Mode

Note
Typing mode is only available in the Word processor application.


  1. Whilst in the Word Processor app use the hotkey chord Backspace-Space-Enter-M to toggle on typing mode, the BrailleSense should then speak “Start Typing Mode” spoken and displayed in Braille.
  2. To disable Typing Mode press space-dot 4, “End Typing Mode” will be spoken and displayed on the Braille line.
