BrailleSense U2 - Reset procedures

Problem

A customer has a U2 unit that stops malfunctioning or has stopped responding to input. 


Applies to

  1. HIMS U2 series notetakers

Resolution

Please try each reset in turn to resolve the problem.  Please note that hard reset will erase user data, if possible connect to PC first and copy user data from flash disk.

Method 1 - Soft Reset

  1. Press and release the reset button on the back of the notetaker.
  2. The unit should soft start back into the operating system.

Method 2 - Hard Reset

  1. Press and hold Fast Forward button the front face of the unit.
  2. Whilst holding fast forward press and release the reset button on the back.
  3. Continue to hold Fast Forward button until you hear the brailleSense restart.
