Captive portal page redirection fails
Problem
When using Polaris with a public WI-FI hotspot that is tied to a captive portal login page the Polaris web browser doesn't redirect to the captive portal login page and indicates there is no active internet connection even though the Wi-Fi-access point list who's that you are connected to the unsecured network. For these types of connection the user must authenticate using a web browser before WI-FI access is granted.
Resolution
- Power on the Polaris and make sure you are in range of the public Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm that your wireless is turned on and that you are connected to your student Wi-fi.
- Then Press F1 to open the start menu, then navigate down to the "All Apps" section and enter the sub menu.
- Now navigate until you get to the "Chrome" web browser.
- When Chrome has opened it should take you to the captive portal login page to get you signed into your wi-fi.

To set Chrome as your default browser:
You may find it convenient if you use many these type of hotspot connections to set Chrome as your default browser.
- Press F1 to open the Star menu.
- Navigate down to "All Apps" and enter the sub menu.
- Then choose "Android Settings".
- Then select "Default" and then "Browser app".
- Then choose "Advanced" and then "Default apps".
- Then select "Browser app" and choose "Chrome" as your default browser app.
