Capture version information from any Microsoft Office app

Problem

A JAWS customer needs to capture information about their Microsoft Office app which which they are having problems in order to aid a Technical Support query. 

Resolution

  1. In any office app press alt+F to open file menu.
    Press down arrow to “Account” or “Office Account”.
  2. Then press TAB until you get to the “About word” button.
  3. Then press TAB until you get to the version number which JAWS should read ou.
  4. Press JAWSKey+spacebar followed letter H and find the version most recently spoken.
  5. Use SHIFT+ARROW keys to highlight all the info and press control+C fo copy to clipboard.
  6. Then press CONTROL+V to paste this information somewhere convenient so you can send it back to Technical Support.
