Disable autocorrect in Microsoft Word

Problem

You wish to disable autocorrection in Microsoft Word.

Resolution

  1. Click File > Options > Proofing > Autocorrect options > Autocorrect tab.
  2. In the autocorrect options dialogue uncheck any of all of the following options:

• Show autocorrect options buttons
• Correct two initial capitals
• Capitalise first letter of sentences
• Capitalise first letter of table cells
• Capitalise names of days
• Correct accidental use of caps lock key
• Automatically use suggestions on spelling checker

  1. Then click OK button to save the settings and do the same in the main settings window also.
