Disable JAWS audio ducking feature
Problem
The JAWS audio ducking feature may cause undesirable lowering of other audio whilst JAWS is speaking. It may therefore be necessary to disable to fix the problem.
Resolution
- Press JAWSKey+F2 and select and open “Settings Centre”.
- Then press CONTROL+SHIFT+D to open the default configuration.
- Type the word “audio” without quotes and press down arrow to select “Lower audio of other programs while JAWS speaks”.
- Press SPACEBAR on this to toggle the setting off.
- Then TAB to the Apply button and press SPACBEAR to activate it and then press ENTER to close the dialogue.
- Restart JAWS only or restart the PC for settings to take effect.
