DBT - Duxbury Braille Translator manual license activation


Problem

A customer needs to activate their Duxbury Braille Translator from within an organisation or business that have a managed/firewalled internet connection.

Detail

Before Duxbury Braille Translator can be used the license must be activated to turn it into full product.  In a business or organisation environment it may not be possible to activate the software license using the automatic Internet method.

Resolution

Please follow the steps below to carry out manual activation to activate a DBT license.

 

Using a mouse

  1. Double click to open DBT, when the Activate or License button appears click it. 
  2. In the activation wizard click Next button to proceed.
  3. Then click to select the option License And Activate This Computer then click Next.



  4.  Then click Start A New Activation Without Internet, then click Next button.
  5. Then select Activate By Telephone call to Duxbury Support and Next button.
  6. On the next screen copy information required below to send to Duxbury to provide an activation code.

  7. When the license activation code has been received by email open DBT and click Activate or License button when it appears, then click Next button.
  8. Then choose License And Activate This Computer > Complete My Pending Activation, I Have Received My Activation Code > Next button.
  9. In the new window copy/paste in the Activation Code and Confirmation Number provided by Duxbury.
  10. Then click Next button to activate.

  

Using the keyboard

  1. Press ENTER to open DBT software, at the splash screen TAB to Activate or License when they appear and then press SPACEBAR to activate it.
  2. Use ARROW keys to select License And Activate This Computer then press ALT+N.
  3. Then use ARROW keys to select Start A New Activation Without Internet and press ALT+N.
  4. Then use ARROW keys to select Activate By Telephone Call to Duxbury Support and press ALT+N.
  5. On the next screen TAB to and fill out the License Text number. 
  6. On the next screen copy information required below to send to Duxbury to provide an activation code.

  7. When you receive the activation code reopen DBT and select the options to License And Activate This Computer > Complete My Pending Activation, I Have Received My Activation Code and press ALT+N.
  8. Then copy/paste into the appropriate edit boxes for Activation Code and Confirmation Number, then press ALT+N to complete activation.
