Index - Emboss test pages (V2. V3. V4)

Problem

You wish to emboss a test page to check if the embosser is working correctly.

Resolution

Use the solution that matches the version of your embosser below.

v2

Hammer test - Hold the Online button as powering it on and wait for the beep.

v3

Hammer test - Press Help then Online.
Embosser information in Braille - Help then Normal.
Embosser information in text - Help then Help.

v4

  1. Press Menu
  2. Arrow down to Option, press OK
  3. Arrow down to Emboss Without Computer, press OK.
  4. There are a few options here including:
  • Braille manual - emboss the entire Index manual in Braille. Useful to test embossing a long document & regular braille.
  • Hammer test - will test all solenoids so you can tell if one is faulty.
  • Embosser information - shows information including serial & firmware version. (You can alternatively hear this information by just pressing Help instead)
