FS Install - Setup posts the error "You cannot install this product..."

Problem

A JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion user whilst installing their software encounters a problem where a dialogu pop up message states:  "You Cannot install this product on this platform. "

Resolution

The error message "You Cannot install this product on this platform" indicates that the installer does not meeting the requirements of the operating system you are installing onto.  In practice this may be for the following reasons:

  1. The operating system is no longer supported by the installer.
  2. The installer does not support the processor architecture of the operating.

If you are installing an older version install please keep in mind that support for the following operating systems were dropped for Freedom Scientific installers in 2021:

  1. Windows 8.1 and 8.0 (version 2021 and below)
  2. Windows 7.0 and earlier (version 2021 and below)
  3. Windows Server 2016 or earlier (version 2021 and below)

ARM processor support

If you are using an earlier installer intending to run on Windows ARM64 please check versions on which this is supporrted by the installer.  You can visit Fusion suite ARM64 FAQ page for more details.

  1. AWS/ZoomText/Fusion 2025 and later using Intel/ARM64 unified installer
  2. JAWS 2023 and later ARM64 installer
  3. ZoomText 2024 and later ARM64 installer
