Apple - Fix random sleep/wake issues

Problem

You are having problems with random sleep/wake issues.


Resolution

Make the following changes to fix these issues:


Mac OS Monterey and below

  1. Click Apple menu and choose “system preferences” or "System Settings"
  2. Then choose “Energy Saver”.
  3. Then click the “restore defaults” button.
  4. Then uncheck the following items:

    Wake on network access
    Start up automatically after a power failure

  5. If there is a “power nap” checkbox (Yosemite only) then uncheck this as well and close the preferences.

Note
For Mac OS Ventura and later similar similar settings are available to disable but no Restore Defaults button is shown.
