ZoomText - Fix application performance and stability in third party applications
Problem
You are having problems with ZoomText performance in apps like Excel.
Resolution
- Press Windows+R to open the Run command and enter the following string and click "OK": %programdata%
- From the new window open the folders Freedom Scientific > Zoomtext > [ZTVersion]
Where [ZTVersion] is the year version of Zoomtext being used, example:
"C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific\ZoomText[2021” - When you have the folder showing, open the file by double clicking or pressing ENTER on:
"ZoomtextConfig.xml" - Search and locate the text :
Focus timer interval in milliseconds - Then move one line down to the where it reads:
- Then amend the line for the FocusTimerInterval to be 1250 or higher.
- Then search and locate the entry below:
Property name="DisableUiaEvents" - Now amend this value to true as per example below:
<Property name="DisableUiaEvents" value="true" />
- Search for and locate the entry:
Property name="DisableMsaaEvents" - Amend this value to be “true” as below example:
<Property name="DisableMsaaEvents" value="true" />
- Press CONTROL+S or choose "Save" from the File menu. If Zoomtext is running close and restart it.
