Focus – Typical run-tim


Problem

A Focus customer wishes to know the total run-time can be expected from Focus display.

  1. All Focus series displays


Resolution

  1. The Focus series 5 series Braille display has a lithium Ion rechargeable battery permanently installed. 
  2. When fully charged the typical expected battery life is approximately 20 hours.  This may be less if the unit has only taken a partial charge. 
  3. The rechargeable battery is considered a consumable item due to ageing of the battery chemistry.  This may over time cause the battery capacity to drop with long term use.  If the drop in run-time becomes very noticeable the batterry will need to be replaced out of warranty.
