Focus – Typical battery life

Focus – Typical battery life

Problem

A Focus customer wishes to know the typical expected battery life that can be expected.

Applies to

  1. All Focus series displays

Resolution

  1. The Focus series 5 series Braille display has a lithium Ion rechargeable battery permanently installed.
  2. When fully charged the typical expected battery life is approximately 20 hours.  This may be less if the unit has only taken a partial charge.
  3. The rechargeable battery is considered a consumable item due to ageing of the battery chemistry.  When this happens it may lose some of its capacity to hold charge and operation time decreases over time.  An out of warranty repair can be booked to install a replacement battery which is a chargeable service.
