When purchasing an new product/upgrade or SMA one may wish to understand the difference between non-commercial and Professional license tiers in Freedom Scientific products JAWS/Fusion.

Resolution
Since version 15.0 Freedom Scientific Licensing for JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion software has two main tiers; non-commercial and professional license tiers. Their appropriateness depends mostly on the context the software is used.
- A Professional license for a Freedom Scientific product JAWS/Fusion is necessary when the software is installed and used on hardware that is owned and managed by an organisation/business/school or being used by a customer in a work setting.
- A non-commercial license is only appropriate for use a home computer that is not owned or controlled by an organisation, or the software is used in a domestic setting and not in connection with employment.
