FS Auth – Network license not found by client installation of JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion
Problem
Sentinel software has been installed and a network license activated on a network. The client PC with the software does not find the network license when it starts up so it runs in demo mode with serial number 801.
Resolution
On some networks the Freedom Scientific product is unable to detect the Sentinel server license broadcast because the server and client machines are not on the same subnet. To resolve the issue you can add an LSFORCEHOST environment variable to the client PC so it knows where to locate the server. Create a system environment variable LSFORCEHOST on the client PC for the end user.
- Open Start and search Advanced System Settings and launch the item.
- Click Environment Variables button.
- Click New button under System Variables list.
- Then add the following to set up the new System Environment Variable and click OK.
Variable name: LSFORCEHOST
Variable value: IP or computer name of Sentinel server
