Fusion – Problem deleting single attachment in forwarded message

Problem

When forwarding a message in Microsoft Outlook the user is unable to delete just one of the attachments if there is more than one. Instead when Fusion is running all attachments are deleted in one go.


Detail

Currently it is inferred that this problem may have been introduced in the Fusion  June 2023 update as the report we have which has been reproduced by Freedom Scientific verify the problem occurs. This problem has also been observed with JAWS only running.

Resolution

This problem was fixed in the the July update for Fusion 2023.2307.  Fusion 2023 Customers may obtain an update via the online update mechanism or download the updated build from www.freedomscientific.com.


Workaround

For customer who cannot update to Fusion 2023.2307 the workaround below may help:

  1. Locate the message as usual and press CONTROL+F to forward the message.
  2. Use TAB or SHIFT+TAB to navigate to the attachments area and focus on the attachment to delete.
  3. Then press shift+F10, arrow down to Delete and press ENTER. Only the focused attachment should be deleted.
