SmartVision - Google voice dictation button no longer works after update

Problem:

After a Google Update has installed on the Kapsys SmartVision 2 phone the Google Voice buton on the side on the phone stops responding as normal rendering voice dictation for messages inoperable. This problem is known to be caused by the June 23rd 2021 update.

Resolution

Method 1: Wait for update to fix issue

An update from Google may be available later to fix the issue but you may have to wait.

Method 2: Downgrade the Google app:

  1. Uninstall the latest update from Google by going Apps> PlayStore> Account & Settings> Manage Apps & Device> Manage> Google> Uninstall> Uninstall.
  2. Now block the Google's automatic update by going Apps> PlayStore> Account & Settings> Manage Apps & Device> Manage> Google> More Options> Auto Update (must be unchecked)
  3. Now Install the old software version by going Apps > Applications Update > Google > Press OK > Install.

Note:
In some cases, you may have to launch Google Assistant manually from the applications list in order to finalize the configuration or just restart the phone.
