About
The Mountbatten range are a family of electronic Braille writing machines enhanced with software for Braille and Braille music education. At its most basic level it can be used as an electronic Perkins mechanical Brailler but without the strain of pressing mechanical keys which is often beneficial for young learners.

The Mountbatten and Mountbatten Whsperer models have reach EOL and have now been superceded by Mountbatten Brailler Tutor (MBT).
Product models
The Mountbatten units come in a variety of versions each with different capabilities. These are:
- MB Writer
- MB Writer Plus
- MB Writer Pro
- MB Learning System
Mountbatten Whisperer
This product is similar to the above but features quieter embossing which is useful in a classroom situation.
Hardware
The original Mountbattens were produced in the early 1990s and have undergone slight revisions since then. Older MB units feature a grey casing whereas newer models have a blue casing.
