How to download a software update

Problem

You need to install a Smartvision 2 phone software update.

Resolution

Note
An Internet connection either via cellular or Wi-Fi is required to download and install SmartVision2 updates. If you are using a PAYG phone plan you may wish to avoid doing this over cellular to avoid incurring large charges.

Update process

  1. Go to “Settings”, select "About Phone" and then "System Updates".
  2. Select "Download and install" at the bottom of the list and press the "OK" button to start the download.

Depending on your connection, downloading the update may take some time. You can view its progress via the update notification in the notification shade. When the download is complete, select "Install" from the system update screen. It may take a few minutes to complete the process before you could use the product (vocalized feedback).
