A JAWS user needs to use the Zoom meeting app with JAWS.

Notes

In order to host your own meetings on Zoom you will be required to create a Zoom account visit  www.zoom.us
An account is not necessary to join meetings but you will also need to download the software from the Zoom website to join the meeting or use the web app instead.


  • You must have the Zoom meeting app software installed. You can download Zoom from the download centre: https://zoom.us/download
  • Once downloaded run the installer downloaded from the Zoom software and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install. Afterwards you can launch the software.
  • Sign into your Zoom account:
  • Before you can properly use Zoom to create meeting you will need to sign into your Zoom account.
  1. Open Start menu and search “Zoom” and open up the Zoom app.
  2. In the main window tab to the “Sign in” button and press spacebar.
  3. Then enter your credentials to log in.

  4. Once logged in you will have a new window you will then have a number of buttons you can tab through, tab to the “New meeting” button and press SPACEBAR on it.
  5. Then you can tab to the “invite” buttons and press SPACEBAR on it to invite members.
  6. On the next page press TAB until you get to “Contacts” and then press right arrow to go to “Email” and then press TAB to reach “Default Email” and press SPACEBAR on it. This will start your email client so you can send a message about your meeting to the other participants.
    They can respond and get onto the meeting.
