HP - Deskjet 2710 paper jam clearance

Problem

The printerr indicates it is jammed during printing.

Resolution

Work through all the steps below to fix the paper feed issue.


Step 1 - Clear a paper jam from the input tray

  1. Remove all the paper from the input tray, including both loose and jammed paper.

  2. Lift and hold the input tray shield, and then use a flashlight to check for any jammed paper or foreign objects in the paper path. Remove any jammed paper or foreign objects you find.
    To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands gently.

NOTE: The input tray shield can prevent foreign debris from falling into the paper path and causing serious paper jams. Do not remove the input tray shield.

3.Press the Cancel button (). The printer tries to clear the jam automatically.


Step 2 - Clear a paper jam from the output tray

  1. Remove all the paper from the output tray, including both loose and jammed paper.
  2. Use a flashlight to check for any jammed paper or foreign objects in the output tray area, and then remove any jammed paper or foreign objects you find.
    To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands gently.


Step 3 - Clear a paper jam from the cartridge access area

  1. Press the Cancel button () to try to clear the jam automatically. If this does not work, complete the following steps to clear the jam manually.
  2. Open the cartridge access door.
  1. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
    4.Press the Power button () to turn off the printer. Then disconnect the power cord and any other cables from the rear of the printer.

CAUTION:To avoid the risk of electrical shock, you must unplug the power cord to move the carriage by hand and reset the paper feed mechanism.

  1. Use a flashlight to check for any jammed paper or foreign objects.

6.If the carriage is in the center of the printer, slide it to the right, and then remove any paper or objects blocking the carriage path.

To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands gently.
