HP Deskjet - Printers do not work using third party ink

Problem

After loadiong inks into an HP Deskjet printer the printing function suddenly stops.

Resolution

  1. A new firmware update released in March 2023 has introduced a feature called Dynamic Security which prevents their printers from running if the ink installed is detected as being not genuine HP ink.
  2. Due to the above measures introduced by HP, Sight and Sound strongly recommend only using HP inks to avoid printing being disabled.

Corrective firmware (OfficeJet only)

Corrective firmware for consumer Deskjet models is not available.  For customers who have OfficeJet printers please see Corrective firmware for OfficeJet printers.
