Index Basic V5 - Select single/double sided embossing

Information

You wish to change to double/single sided embossing when using embosser with Index Direct Braille or other third-party Braille Translation software.

Emboss double sided using Duxbury

When using Duxbury Braille Translator you can edit the Global Embosser settings and check the Double Sided checkbox to enable this feature.

Double sided setting on the embosser front panel

Braille Maker and other third-party translation software may not offer the single/double sided feature in their interface. In this case you can use the embosser front panel to change the setting using the steps below.

  1. To check status press HELP + MENU for feedback about active layout.
  2. Then Press Menu then arrows to select Braille Layout and press OK to select.
  3. Then select Edit Active Layout 1-9 to edit and press OK.
  4. Then select Standard Layout Wizard the press OK.
  5. Then follow the wizard through and select Print Type and press OK,
  6. Then select Double and press OK.
  7. Step through the wizard and choose Save layout by pressing OK.
