Problem

When trying to run an app you see a pop up that tells you the app cannot be opened because it cannot be checked for malicious software.

Resolution

This security safeguard can bypassed provided you are certain the app being installed is genuine.

1. Locate the file in Finder.
2. Press and hold the Control key.
3. With the control key held double click to open the app and proceed through the install.
