JAWS - In Gmail "message body" announced whilst navigating in a message

Problem

A JAWS customer when using Gmail web interface in HTML mode hears the text "message body" when cursoring through text in an email

Resolution

  1. This problem was reported to Freedom Scientific regarding JAWS 2022 December update.  This problem was logged under bug IDs 126646 and 126214 by development.
  2. Roll back to the JAWS 2022 November update
  3. Run GMail is normal view
  4. Then problem has now been fixed in February 2023 solutions below:

Gmail have announced that the HTML version of Gmail is to be retired January 2024 so this is not likely to come up after that.
