JAWS - When running causes high memory usage and quits without warning
Problem:
A customer running JAWS encounters high memory usage whilst running JAWS eventually resulting in slow down or quitting without warning. Typically this problem takes around 90 minutes to set in and may do sooner.

Resolution:
The fix below can be used but it should be noted that this stop headphones plugged into the laptop not to work.
Using the mouse
- Open “Services.msc” to view the list of Windows services.
- Then locate “Waves MaxxAudio” right click and choose “Properties” in the menu.
- Change the “Startup type” to “Disabled” and click “OK” then close the services Window.
- Now run Task Manager.
- If there’s a “More Details” button, click it.
- Then click the “Startup” tab.
- Find “Waves MaxxAudio”. (There will be one or two such entries you may need to disable)
- Right click on each and then click the “Disable” button.
- Close Task Manager and Reboot.
Using the keyboard
- Press Windows+R and enter the text below and press ENTER:
Services.msc - Find the service “Waves MaxxAudio” in the list and press ALT+ENTER to open its properties.
- Tab to “Startup type” drop down and change this to “Disabled”.
- Then press CONTROL+SHIFT+ESCAPE to open Task Manager.
- Press tab to locate “More Details” button and press SPACEBAR to change it to “Fewer details”.
- Press CONTROL+TAB until you reach “Startup” tab.
- In the list locate “Waves MaxxAudio” (There will be one or two such entries)
- Press shift+F10 on this item and select “Disable” in the context menu and then press ENTER.
- Close Task Manager and then restart.
