JAWS - Cannot properly read cells whilst editing in Excel
Problem
A JAWS customer encounter a problem where after pressing F2 they are not able to properly review any text entered using the arrow keys.
Resolution
A settings change is required in Excel to fix the problem.
Using the mouse
- Click File > Options > Advanced.
- Under Editing options uncheck the option “Allow editing directly in cells” then click the OK button.
Using the keyboard
- Press ALT+F to open File and then down arrow to “options” and press ENTER.
- Use arrow keys in the category list to select “Advanced” options.
- Then press TAB to reach the checkbox “Allow editing directly in cells” and press spacebar to disable the option.
- Then TAB to the OK button and press SPACEBAR.
