JAWS dongle version installation FAQ

Information

If you have ordered a JAWS dongle license this document may answer some important questions.

I have a JAWS dongle is but there is nothing on the dongle to install with?

A: The JAWS dongle does not contain any software but is purely an authorisation dongle. If you have an authorisation only dongle you will likely be using JAWS version 2018 or later.

Does the dongle require different versions of the software?

A: No, you can use the normal software downloads.

When should I plug in the dongle?

A: It is important that you do not plug in the dongle before the JAWS or Fusion product is installed. If the dongle is plugged in before the software (hich contains the relevant drivers for the dongle) the Windows system will install the wrong drivers and the dongle will not function as intended.

If I upgrade to a later version what happens about the dongle?

A: If you have purchased an upgrade for your serial number a dongle update file will need to be requested for you. Please contact Technical Support with the serial number for help with this.

What if a dongle is lost?

A: A replacement can be purchased from Sight and Sound. Please contact sales.
