Problem

A JAWS user wishes to download and install additional training material from www.freedomscientific.com to use with FS Reader DAISY app.

Resolution

1. Additional training modules to supplement the nine hours of basic training are available from the Freedom Scientific website. 
   
2. Each of these downloads have their own EXE installer, once installed the new training material is stored as sub folders in “c;\program files\Training” folder.

Step 1 – Downloading and install additional training material

1. With a browser open this website and browse through the links to locate an item you wish to download:  https://www.freedomscientific.com/training/jaws/additional-jaws-training-downloads/
   
2. After executing the download link for the desired content the installer will be downloaded to the PC.
   
3. After the download completes run the installer from your downloads folder, the setup will extract the material to the folder “c;\program files\Training”.

Step 2 – Own additional training in FS Reader

1. Press WINDOWS+D and press letter F until  you reach FS Reader and press ENTER, FS Reader window will load.
   
2. Press CONTROL+O to activate the Open dialogue window.
   
3. Then press ALT+I to go to the Look In drop down box.
   
4. Press down arrow to find the local Drive C and press right arrow, then press down arrow to select Program Files.
   
5. Press right arrow on Program Files, then down arrow to Training.
   
6. Then press right arrow to open the folder and press down arrow, use arrow keys to select JAWS folder, then press right arrow and down.
   
7. Then arrow to ENU and press down arrow then press ENTER.
   
8. Press TAB key to reach the list view.
   
9. Press ENTER on the topic name folder, then press down arrow to highlight ncc.html and press ENTER to open the training.
   
10. You are now ready to navigate the training material by browsing with arrow keys or press CONTROL+P to start/stop audio playback.
