JAWS - Start Up wizard (set auto start and other options)
Problem
A new JAWS customer needs to set their JAWS auto start options on their first startup after installing JAWS.

Resolution
These instructions assume that JAWS has just been installed and the system restarted.
Set Start Up Wizard options
After JAWS starts the Start Up Wizard will launch automatically.
Use the SPACEBAR to check or uncheck th option whether to participate in providing diagnostic data to Freedom Scientific, this is optional and choosing not to does not change the operation of JAWS.
Then press ALT+N to proceed or TAB to Next and press SPACEBAR.
Opening the Start Up Wizard manually
When JAWS first starts it will display the Start Up Wizard. The user is invited to set their preferences including those for how JAWS will start automatically. If this process is missed or does not start it is possible to launch the Start Up wizard manually using the steps below.
- Whilst JAWS is running press WINDOWKEYS+M to move to Desktop and press letter J until you reach the JAWS program icon.
- Then press ENTER on it, the JAWS window should then be announced, press ALT+H to open the Help menu.
- Then arrow down to start up Wizard and press ENTER.
- Then follow the prompts in the wizard to set options taking care to enable JAWs start up and complete the wizard.
