JAWS/Fusion - Setup error 8A280A33

Problem

An error 8A280A33 is posted when running JAWS/Fusion installer.

Resolution

Anyone unfamiliar with the process of carrying out the steps below should contact Sight & Sound Technical Support on 01604 798 000 or email support@sightandsound.co.uk for assistance.  Alternatively if local IT support is available please refer the solution below to an IT technician to carry out.

  1. Please open Installed Apps and remove all JAWS/Fusion versions including shared components.
  2. In Installed Apps chewck for and remove any leftover C++ Redistibutable installers 32 and 64 bit components.
  3. Open Regedit utility, then search for and remove any keys for Freedom Scientific.
  4. Restart the compter, then re-attempt reinstallation product.
