JAWS - Soundcard is muted
Problem
A JAWS customer has a problem with not hearing JAWS speech, a common reason for this may be that the sound card has been accidentally muted.
Resolution
Use the steps below to disable muted audio
- Open
SNDVOL.EXE app for the volume panel.
- Along
the bottom check the buttons next to each slider, any that show a red circle with
a line through next to the loudspeaker symbol indicates the channel is
muted. Click to disable mute on any channel.
- If
speech is not heard ensure that either main volume or the slider for FSSynth
level is not set to zero.
