JAWS – Stop JAWS automatically reading Outlook emails
Problem
A JAWS customer does not wish JAWS to automatically read
Outlook emails when they press ENTER to open them.

Resolution
To prevent JAWS automatically reading email messages in
Outlook use the steps below.
1. Open
Microsoft Outlook so that the main window is open.
2. Press
JAWSKey+V to open Quick Settings window.
3. Then
type the word “auto” without the quotes into
the search field and down arrow to Messages Automatically Read.
4. Then
press space to toggle the setting to off.
5. Then
press ENTER to close Quick Settings.
