JAWS – Unable to exit toolbar in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.


Problem

A customer after pressing ALT key to open the menu or examine other toolbar items in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is unable to get back to reading the current web page content without repeated actions of pressing the TAB key to regain access to the web content they were viewing.

Detail

The ALT key when press allows users to open the main menu and access toolbar items but pressing escape does not always allow one to navigate back to the currently loaded web page sometimes requiring many presses of TAB key.

Resolution

To resolve this problem please use the keystroke CONTROL+F6 or SHIFT+CONTROL+F6 to cycle through the window components back to the web content instead.
