JAWS - Using layered keystrokes to access features

A JAWS user would like information on using layered keystrokes to access certain JAWS features.

Resolution

Since there are many more functions available to JAWS than there are usable hotkeys, some functions are grouped below a layered hotkey.  The layered keystroke can be thought like a menu access by a single letter hotkey with further options accessed in sequence to a related function.

Using a layered keystroke

To enter layered key mode one must press JAWSKey+SPACEBAR followed by a letter, an would be Z to launch alternate directory mode.  Other layered hotkeys have further options below the initial hotkey.

  3. Sound splitter - V
  4. Tables - T
