K1000 does not scan using the Plustek OpticBook 3800 latest driver

Problem

K1000 software fails to scan when used with the Plustek OpticBook 3800 scanner.

Resolution

  • The most currenrt driver version 6.1 does not contain apropropiate scanner interface support for K1000 software.
  • To fix this problem uninstall driver version 6.1 driver and then replace with the 5.2.0.2 driver whcih has TWAIN support.
  1. Right click Start and then choose Apps and Features or Installed Apps.
  2. Then uninstall the Opticbook driver. Then restart the PC afterwards
  3. Use the link to download the 5.2.0.2 driver: https://d3b63i9tvm4mo6.cloudfront.net/downloads/english/driver/OpticBook3800-v5202_12L.zip
  4. Right click the downloaded ZIP file then choose Extract All and follow the wizard through. On completion a new folder with the name of the download will be created.
  5. Run the setup file and follow the instructions to install the driver.
  6. Whilst conducting the install disable standby.
