A customer wishes to know how compatible Kapsys Minivision and SmartVision phones have with hearing aids.

Kapsys phone hearing aid compatibility

Kapsys have stated that all their current phones provide M3 and T3 hearing compatibility.  This information has been provided 10/10/2024.


Notes
Note
  1. Kapsys do not maintain a list of compatible hearing aid.
  2. Kapsys phones do not support hearing aids that require the ASHA profile, this is because Bluetooth 5.0 is not currently supported on their hardware.

Hearing aid coupling methods

There are two types of hearing aid coupling standards used:
  1. Acoustic coupling (labelled M)
  2. Telecoil inductive coupling (labelled T)

Android and ASHA profile standard

Google has a a wireless hearing aid standard known as ASHA for streaming audio wirelessly from a phone using Bluetooth.  The standard requires Android 14 and Bluetooth 5.0 both of which are not supported on the current Kapsys phones.  You may want to view Android and hearing compatibility and Google Pixel phone and hearing aids for further information.
