Redcat – Unable to update App Center (Internal)

Redcat – Unable to update App Center (Internal)

Problem

A user with a Redcat desktop PC encounters a pop-up message shortly after startup prompting them to update App Center but after they respond by activating the OK button the message appears again the next time the Windows starts.

Resolution

The App Center prompt is generated by Gigabyte motherboard software commonly installed on Redcat desktop PCs supplied by Sight & Sound.  This prompt may be seen repeatedly because the auto-update mechanism is unable to update a damaged installation.  Therefore in some cases using the full installer may fix the problem.

  1. Please direct your browser to this page: https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Utility/Motherboard
  2. Then look under the listed apps for App Center and activate the download link within.
  3. After download run the installer to repair and update the installed software.
  4. Restart the Redcat PC to finish installation.
