Lenovo - run hardware diagnostics

Problem:

You wish to run hardware diagnostics to see if there is a problem with a Lenovo Laptop (typically V130-15IKB).

Resolution:

  1. Download the Lenovo diagnostics installer. With your browser visit:
  2. https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkvantage_en/ldiag_windows_v4.26.1.24_x64.zip
  3. When you have downloaded the file locate the download in the file system and right click it and choose "Extract all".
  4. Then follow the instructions to unpack the download.
  5. When you see the installer file double click to run the installer.
  6. Once the installer has finished you may proceed to the next section.

To launch the diagnostics:

  1. Power on the computer.
  2. During the boot sequence press F10 continually to Launch Lenovo diagnostics.

Alternatively:

  1. Press F12 whilst booting the laptop to enter the boot menu.
  2. Then press Tab to select Application Menu and arrow down to Lenovo Diagnostics and select it by pressing Enter.
  3. Then run the tests through to see if you pick up anythning.
  4. Run through the tests and alert support to any problems found.
