Before carrying out these steps make sure you have the credentials to log back onto the wireless network. These are usually printed on a domestic router.

  1. Click Apple symbol > System Preferences > Network.
  2. On the left menu click “Wi-Fi” and then click the “Advanced” button.

  3. Then paste this address /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
  4. Locate and delete these files and delete them:

com.apple.network.identification.plist
com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
preferences.plist
  1. Now shut down and restart your MacBook.

Method 5 - Reset non-volatile RAM (Intel)

This solution only applies to Intel based Macs made in the summer 2020 and earlier.

  1. Turn off your Mac.
  2. Locate these four keys and do not press them yet: Option, Command, P, and R.
  3. Turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold these keys.
