MBT - Update to latest firmware

Problem

A Mountbatten Tutor (MBT) user wishes to update firmware installed on their unit to help resolve a technical problem.

Current MB Tutor firmware version 1.7.5.

Resolution

Please use the steps below to update to the most current MB Tutor firmware.

Update steps

  2. Scroll down to the heading Mountbatten Brailler Tutor firmware downloads and click the Firmware link just after step 1 to download the latest version.
  3. Unpack the firmware ZIP file by right click and choose Extract All in the menu.
  4. Copy the the MBUPDATE.TUT folder and its contents in the root folder of a Pendrive (USB thumb memory)
  5. Then connect so prepared USB drive to the right-hand USB socket on the MBTutor
  6. While the USB drive is placed in the socket (when MB Tutor is on), you will hear a message "USB memory connected” spoken.
  7. Then press menu and navigate to System -> Update device
  8. After an additional prompt, the update process will start automatically.
