Method 2 – Force reinstall of ACPI battery driver
Please attmpt this resolution if the laptop powers on but does not recognise the charger when plugged in.
- With the laptop running right click Start menu and then choose “Device Manager”.
- In “Device manager” double click “Batteries”.
- In the drop-down list look for the item “Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery” and right click.
- Then choose the option “Uninstall” and when prompted confirm uninstall of the battery component.
- Restart the laptop. If the laptop does not respond and still does not charge the problem may be a faulty power adaptor. Windows will then reinstall the battery driver and you can re-test if the problem is fixed.
