Microsoft - Adjust display scaling to 100 percent
Problem
Technical support have recommended adjusting Windows display scaling to 100 percent to fix a problem.
Resolution
The steps below may resolve one of the two scenarios detailed below:
- Some problems particularly with software products like screen readers and screen magnifiers work best with display scaling set to the default of 100 percent instead of a custom scaling value.
- Alternatively, some parts of the Windows interface do not fit well onto the display, adjusting display scaling to 100 percent may also help.
Windows 11
- Click Start > Settings > System > Display > Scale.
- Then click scale.
- Then enter 100 and click the button with the checkmark symbol.
- Then click the link above to Sign Out Now.
- Then sign back in for the changes to take effect.
Windows 10
- Click Start > Settings > System > Display.
- Scroll down to the heading Scale And Layout.
- Then click the drop down labelled "Change the size of text , apps and other items" and adjust to 100%.
- Close apps and sign out and then back into Windows for the changes to take effect.
