Microsoft - Adjust display scaling to 100 percent

Problem

A Windows 11 user needs to change the display scaling to fix a problem.

Applies to

  1. Windows 11

Resolution

The steps below may resolve one of the two scenarios detailed below:
  1. Where display scaling has been set top a value over 100 percent whcih may case problems with screen reader and magnifier products.
  2. Where the current scaling value does not allow some parts of the Windows interface to comfortably fit well onto the display.

Windows 11

  1. Click Start > Settings > System > Display > Scale.
  2. Then click Scale.
  3. Then enter the value 100 then click the button with the checkmark symbol.
  4. Then click the link Sign Out Now to confirm the changes.
  5. Then sign back in for the changes to be applied.

Windows 10

  1. Click Start > Settings > System > Display.
  2. Scroll down to the heading Scale And Layout.
  3. Then click the drop down labelled "Change the size of text , apps and other items" and adjust to 100%.
  4. Close apps and sign out and then back into Windows for the changes to take effect.
