Microsoft – Run ADWCleaner scan

Problem

A Windows user who is concerned that Windows Defender has missed malware detection wishes to use a different tool.

Resolution

Please carefully follow the steps below to run a useful third party tool to scan your system.

Warning
Risk of data loss, please close all open applications and save any work before running the ADWCleaner tool to avoid data loss.
 
  1. Before proceeding close any apps and save any work you have open.
  2. Click the link: Download ADWCleaner software 
  3. Then click the blue download button on the page.
  4. Once download is complete double click to run the application and click the Agree button to proceed.
  5. Click the blue Scan Now button.
  6. If the scan report displays any items that are found put a check mark next to each and click Clear & Repair  button.   
  7. If no items are found click Skip Basic Repair button.
