Microsoft – Run ADWCleaner scan

Problem

A customer who has already run a Windows Defender scan may wish to use another tool for greater confidence their system is clean.

 

Resolution

Please carefully follow the steps below to run a useful third party tool to scan your system.

Warning
Risk of data loss, please close all open applications and save any work before running the ADWCleaner tool to avoid data loss.
 
  1. Click this link to ADWCleanear page:  https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/
  2. Click the blue Download button to download the ADWCleaner tool.
  3. On the first screen click Agree button to proceed.
  4. Then click the blue Scan Now button.
  5. If the system is clean a report is displayed showing the scan time and how many files were scanned.
  6. Click Skip basic repair, then close the window.

If you click Run Basic Repair option offered during a scan please close any open applications and save any work before running that option to avoid loss of data.
