Microsoft – Take a screenshot on Windows 10/11

Problem

A customer needs to take a screenshot to provide further information for support.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the screen that you wish to take a picture of.
  2. Click Start menu and search and launch Snipping Tool.
  3. In the Snipping tool window choose the snipping mode for your screenshot.
  4. Then click the New button to start taking the screenshot.
  5. If you have selected Rectangular or Window mode click and dragon to choose the area or click the window to take the screenshot of.
  6. Then screenshot will then be taken immediately and posted to the clipboard.
  7. Open the document or email you wish to post the screenshot into and then right click and choose Paste in the context menu to insert the screenshot image.
