Microsoft– Touchpad is not working

Problem

A laptop user discovers the touchpad on the laptop is not working.

Applies to

  1. Windows 11

Resolution

Please use the steps below to re-activate the touchpad on your laptop.press Windows key on the tasskbar. the start menu should then open to a search box.
  1. Press the WINDOS key to open the Start Menu search box.
  2. Then enter the word Touchpad and press ENTER on the result to open touchpad settings.
  3. In the new settings press TAB key until you reach the Toucpad toggle button, then press SPACEBAR to turn on the Touchpad, the touchpad on the laptop should then be in operation again.

If the touchpad  setting shown above does not appear this may mean the setting is controlled by software provided by the laptop manufacturer.
